PETALING JAYA: Avaland Bhd (Avaland), formerly known as MCT Bhd, held its inaugural Cybersouth Fun Run at its Cybersouth township involving over 1,500 participants in the 5km and 10km categories.

“This Cybersouth Fun Run is part of our initiative to engage the communities around our developments through sports and activities that are inclusive. In line with our mission of creating communities and enhancing lives, we hope to inspire the Cybersouth community towards a healthier lifestyle this new year,” said Avaland chief executive officer Apollo Bello Tanco.

Located in the Klang Valley's southern corridor, Cybersouth is a township developed by Avaland that is slated to become the new growth corridor for Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, and KLIA. The township, spanning 417 acres, boasts a central park spanning 25 acres, featuring a cycling and jogging track as well as clubhouse amenities.

Its most recent venture is Casa Embun, a serviced residence next to a clubhouse with Moroccan-inspired interior design. The project, which has prices starting at RM250,000, has been well received by buyers and has seen an 85% take-up rate since its launch in January 2023.

Before reaching the finish line at the Avaland Show Village, the course looped around multiple lakes and the lush central park, providing the runners with a picturesque run in the Cybersouth township, which encourages nature-inspired living.

“Although I don’t usually join such runs, I was inspired to participate in Avaland’s Cybersouth Fun Run with my friends because my new year resolution is to get healthier and fitter in 2024,” said Muhammad Syazwan, one of the runners.

“The event was very well organized. I truly enjoyed the run and the scenic view filled with greenery and was impressed with the developments at Cybersouth,” shared another participant Cheng Mey Ching.

“The free health screening that we provided to the residents of Cybersouth last year was well-received and we are glad that the community at Cybersouth enjoyed the Cybersouth Fun Run as well. We will continue to organise more health and wellness activities for the people of Cybersouth and Klang Valley as part of our ongoing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts,” added Tanco.
