Subang Jaya, 3 November 2023 – Newly rebranded and fast rising property developer Avaland Berhad (Avaland), formerly known as MCT Berhad, recently provided free health screening for residents at its Cybersouth township. Partnering with the National Kidney Foundation Malaysia (NKF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by the developer was held at the Clubhouse in Cybersouth, Dengkil.

Cybersouth is a 417-acre township developed by Avaland in the southern part of Klang Valley which is strategically located within the vibrant corridors of Cyberjaya-Putrajaya-KLIA. This resort-style, family-oriented township offers a 24-acre central park for its residents to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and is completed with a clubhouse focusing on sports facilities.

Avaland recently launched Casa Embun, a project located adjacent to the clubhouse with Moroccan-inspired interior design. With prices starting from RM250,000, Phase 1 of the project is well-received and has achieved a take-up rate of 70% since its launch in January 2023.

“This health screening for the benefit of the Cybersouth community is in line with our mission of creating communities and enhancing lives. This is one way for us to give back to the community as we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our residents. We are proud to collaborate with an esteemed NGO like NKF towards improving the quality of life for the Cybersouth community,” emphasized Teh Heng Chong, Chief Executive Officer of Avaland.

This free health screening for the public’s benefit aims to help raise awareness on non-communicable and kidney diseases. Currently, one in seven Malaysians suffer from chronic kidney disease (CKD) according to the Ministry of Health.

“We continue to activate placemaking and wellness activities as we feel that a healthy community is important especially coming off from the Covid-19 pandemic. We are now re-planning the entire town centre of Cybersouth in view of the changes in lifestyle and community needs, as we cater to the post-pandemic effects. It is important to create an integrated environment that is safe, functional and practical for our community,” Teh added.

“We are pleased that Avaland is supporting our NKF Health Screening initiative. Our objective is to educate the public on the importance of early prevention and awareness of kidney diseases. We call on more property developers and corporate sector players to also collaborate with us to improve the health of Malaysians,” said Khor Xin Yun, Chief Executive Officer of NKF.

NKF is a one-stop national resource centre for all kidney-related matters.
